This garden in Wokingham was designed by Bramley Apple Designs. Once the client had agreed on the design, Owen set out the site in preparation. The whole garden was excavated for the fence, patio and lawns. The rubble and soil was removed and a good quality top soil was added and then levelled.
A closed board fence was installed along the boundary line using good quality pressured timber which was then painted.
Kota Brown Limestone slabs were laid for the patio which was edged with Global Stone clay pavers.
Drainage channels were installed along the house and garage.
Metal edging was used to create the circular lawn areas and to shape the water feature. Untreated Corten edging supplied by Steelscapes Ltd was used. It was securely pinned into the ground and set at the required height to make it easier to mow and edge the lawn.
Good quality screened top soil and fertiliser was added to the newly created lawn areas. The soil was rotovated and levelled in preparation for the installation of 25m² of high quality turf supplied by Rolawn. The new lawn was suitably watered and compacted down on completion.
The new planting borders were extensively dug over with weeds, roots and debris removed. Fresh organic matter in the form of granular feed, horse manure and compost was added and dug over and levelled in preparation for planting.
A water feature was installed with electric cables being installed prior to other groundworks.
The team then planted all the new shrubs, trees and plants to complete the garden’s look.
